Eleven of our favorite toddler products for sleep & play

UPPAbaby REMI

The REMI playard is a perfect combination for sleep and play for your toddler. It’s lightweight, portable, and enables parents on the go to create a sleep zone away from home taking just seconds to set up and fold down. The REMI has a unique perforated design with a breathable mattress creating a comfy, healthy place to both rest and play. It also features a zip-down access panel to help you soothe your little one. Sleep is precious. Get more of it, anywhere and everywhere, with the REMI.

Made with hygienic synthetic down and includes an organic cotton removable cover, this pillow is specially sized for toddlers. Moonlight also sells body pillows for kids or for maternity, as well as crib mattresses and more, all for affordable prices.

These sets include everything you need: fitted sheet, snuggly soft blanket, comforter, pillow case, and pillow sham. But what's so great about Beddy's vs. other bedding sets? The entire bedding fits like a fitted sheet, which helps it all stay in place! This means that your little toddler will stay warm and covered all night long. Smooth zippers line both sides of the bedding, giving your little one easy access to open and close both sides.

4. Hanna Andersson pajamas

We love the quality of these toddler pajamas. They are made of organic cotton and truly last through multiple kids, even looking “like new” the second time around! They also sell all kinds of clothes for babies through to age 14, as well as matching family pajamas and clothes for those cute Christmas photos. The company’s goal is to make “the softest, most durably crafted clothes and accessories—made to wear and wash over and over and then hand down.” Definitely check out their website, as they have TONS of cute clothes. We're also big fans of their swimwear and play clothes! And the great part is that they are always having incredible sales.

5. Burt’s Bees Baby pajamas and sheets

Burt’s Bees Baby sells baby and toddler pajamas (including holiday/seasonal ones), bassinet and crib sheets, wearable blankets, bath products, and even non-sleep clothes for ages 0-7! What I love most about their products is that they hold their quality and elasticity even after many washes.

Everything is made with 100% organic cotton, "known for being heavenly soft and gentle on delicate skin, yet super-durable through endless washes." And incredibly, it's also surprisingly affordable.

All Sleepies are made with sustainable and eco-friendly bamboo viscose. They are all SOOOO soft, very functional, and super cute. We especially love their Christmas sets, which are great for family matching. They also have amazingly practical double zipper pajamas (that can convert from footed to footless) and wearable blankets for the little ones.

5 of our favorite toddler PLAY products:

Green Kid Crafts’ goal is to "help children exercise creativity, develop a love of discovery, and learn about the world around them." Their boxes each contain four to six STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) activities for children ages 2-10+. These boxes can be purchased individually or as a monthly subscription. We received some boxes to “test” with our toddlers, and we were truly impressed by the contents. The company uses eco-friendly materials, and we were impressed to see how they could fit the materials for six cute crafts, plus the well-designed, easy-to-follow instruction booklet, in such a small box with limited packing materials!

This one does come with a price tag, but we can honestly say it is worth the investment. The Little Climber (also known as a pikler) is for ages 6 months to 5 years and is GREAT at promoting gross motor skills. We highly recommend this item if you have a little one who needs to get out a little energy! With the Little Climber, babies and toddlers gain confidence, learn to climb and balance, and can use it in multiple ways for years as they grow. It can hold up to 90 lbs, will last through multiple kids and beyond, and is foldable and easy to assemble.

3. Buildable blocks and tiles

This one may sound like a bit of a vague recommendation, but the point is, as long as your kids are learning to create big things out of small things, it doesn’t matter what brand you’re using! Mega Bloks (ages 1-5), Duplo (18 months to 5 years), magnet tiles, and even kinetic sand are great options!

4. Play kitchen, toys and food

Play food and kitchen toys are great for your toddler’s creativity and imagination! We love toys like this wooden cutting fruit, and your little one will have so much fun being “just like Mommy” with kitchen items like pots and pans, a blender, or a coffee maker. Of course, you can top it all off the actual play kitchen, but it’s definitely not needed if your kids have imagination!

5. Well-chosen books

We cannot stress enough how important it is to expose your little one to books! A love of reading starts in the little years, and it will benefit them all throughout their lives, as every subject in school (and most jobs!) requires reading! But when choosing books to read to your children, you should also think about the content and pictures you are exposing them to. Are you teaching them about the world around them? Are you showing them things they are familiar with, yet also exposing them to things that they may not know about otherwise? Are you teaching them about the world around them, and reading books where the characters are of a different race and culture?
