Six of our favorite self-care products for mom & baby

As a team of moms, we are all constantly searching for the best products to use on our babies and, when we get the time, on ourselves too.

If you frequent our site for sleep-related information, you may be wondering, “What do bath and skin products have to do with sleep?” Well, the truth is, what we put in and on our bodies has a pretty large impact on the quality of our sleep (and your baby’s sleep, too!).

That’s why we are sharing with you some of our favorite skincare and other self-care brands for mom and baby that lead to better sleep for both of you!

  1. Earth Mama Organics. One thing I love about Earth Mama is how much they celebrate motherhood, and it truly shows in the quality and variety of their products. I could go on and on about all of the products I have used from their brand, but a couple of my favorites are the calming lavender baby wash and calming lavender baby lotion that I use with my toddler. The combination of the gentle wash and calming properties in lavender are the perfect way to end the bedtime routine each night!

  2. Lhamour. I recently had the opportunity to test the baby balm, sensitive skin body oil, and hand butter, and as a mama that has extremely dry skin, I didn’t have high hopes. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how moisturizing these products are! I was even more impressed with how clean the ingredients are, using only 100% food-grade ingredients, which made me feel much more comfortable using these on our 20-month-old.

  3. Kiss Kiss Goodnight. This has easily become one of my go-to brands for our baby’s skincare, with their clean ingredients and adorable packaging! They recently launched their discovery kit, which includes the balm cleanser, face & body lotion, and protective balm at a great price - all of which we have used with our baby, and they have made a big difference in our nightly routine.

  4. Tubby Todd. The All Over Ointment is amazing. It smells delightful, but is still so mild and not overpowering at all. It has a velvety texture that leaves skin soft and not greasy. It’s so nice that I’ve been using it on my cuticles and feet at night, and I can’t wait to use it on chapped baby cheeks this winter! The hair & bath soap in lavender & rosemary is equally delightful. A tiny bit goes a long way and the smell is so soothing. It's very mild and not overpowering, a truly clean smell from a truly clean product. Tubby Todd uses only the most natural ingredients, perfect for sensitive skin and fairly painless when it gets in the eyes. It also leaves the skin and hair feeling hydrated just out of the bath. To support My Sweet Sleeper, use this link when shopping!

  5. Pink Stork. This company is on a mission to do good, and it shows not only in their service, but in their products too! The lavender calm tea and the wellness bath flakes are two products that I would recommend for all mamas (please check with your doctor if you are pregnant/nursing). What I love about these products is that they have only natural ingredients and are meant to help promote sleep during your routine and when you’re having trouble falling asleep naturally. Plus, the bath flakes really do help ease the natural aches and pains that take a toll on your body during motherhood!

*Check out Pink Stork’s website for several other products related to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, nursing, and more!

  6. Nursing Queen. Another part of a great bedtime routine is actually as simple as putting on pajamas. Even though it may not seem significant enough to even count as part of the routine, the reality is that putting on pajamas is yet another thing that helps signal our bodies that it’s time to fall asleep.

Created by a mom for moms, Nursing Queen lives up to their excellence in producing functional, stylish, and comfortable nursing clothing. I love how the pajamas are a cotton and spandex blend, allowing for comfort and stretch with easy access for nighttime feedings! Aside from the pajamas, I was also able to try one of their sweatshirts, too! Similarity stylish, soft, and flexible, the attention to detail is spot-on. The nursing zippers are located on both sides, underneath the arms, and they zip across the front. The front zipper is hidden and blends in so well that you truly don’t even notice it. Nursing Queen also provides an assortment of stylish clothing such as dresses, bathing suits, shirts, and more. I can’t stress enough how impressed I am by the style, functionality, and quality - especially for the price-point!
*I’d recommend ordering your normal size, as their clothing is designed to fit with or without a postpartum bump.
